Roller Dance Owl skating teaching method was created by Lana Ayelet Shahar Kulik, the
founder and coach of the Roller Dance Owl Productions LTD. It was developed as a concept
after years of living in Vancouver BC, Canada, the city where there were no roller skating rinks,
driving every week across the border to learn and practice different roller skating styles in WA,
United States, and coaching her students in a small roller dance studio in Richmond BC. Roller
Dance Owl specializes in small spaces performances to various kinds of music, choreographed
rehearsed and planned prior to live performances. The most dedicated skaters join Roller Dance Owl team and participate in shows, commercials and perform at different events in Canada and the US.
Roller Dance Owl first demonstrated its skills at the Vancouver International Fashion Festival in
Pacific Gateway Hotel Richmond BC in 2018, and was officially introduced in the “Roller
Skating Hacks Nobody Talks About. Learn to Be an Awesome Skater in a Small Space” the
Roller Dance Owl Beginner’s Guide, which Lana released during COVID19 quarantine in 2020
and featuring her daughter, Naomi Kulik, the guide’s skate model. As roller skating has become
more popular during the pandemic, Lana’s Guide helped many beginners to join the skate
community and learn how to skate safely and with fun.
Using her method, Lana released a new skate dance program for adults and kids during the
Pandemic 2020, named “Skate like a Roller Disco Star“, which has become a slogan of the
Roller Dance Owl.
Currently Lana teaches in Richmond BC (8280 Gilbert Rd), Surrey BC (Central City
Fun Park) and online.
